While filling up fuel, people say that gear position must be set in neutral. Fuel wouldn’t be injected into the engine if it is in neutral position, so it could save more fuel.
The statement above is just a myth. In fact, there’s nothing to do with fuel injection and gear position. Today’s cars are equipped with automatic sensors that block fuel to be injected to the engine when it’s off.
